Whenever I think of the words boot camp, I immediately picture a drill sergeant screaming in my face telling me to drop down and give me 20. Thankfully there is NONE of that when working with Johanna Bingham and Keep Moving Fitness. I have been participating in Johanna's boot camp for over a year and have accomplished more than I could have ever imagined. My favorite part is that I am getting healthier and having a great time. Johanna helps me with my form and keeps me pushing myself. Just when I think I don't have anything left in me, she comes over and reminds me of how far I've come!
After 2 frustrating years of little measurable improvement in my 5k time and average pace, I started training with Johanna Bingham in Runners Bootcamp at Fleet Feet. The exercise plans for each Bootcamp session are comprehensive (core, cardio, legs, arms, etc.), progressive in difficulty from week to week and well structured.
With Johanna's guidance, expertise and support, I cut over 17 minutes off my 5k times (from 54:55.0 to 36:56.4) and improved my average race pace by over 5 minutes (from 17:33 to 11:58), between April and October 2018.
I still have a long way to go to achieve my ultimate fitness goals, but I have lost 4 inches from my midsection, and have seen 1 inch increases in my thighs and calves, and I am starting to see other subtle improvements in muscle mass/tone and aerobic endurance. I attribute much of my success to Johanna's support and encouragement, and I look forward to any opportunities to train with her in the future.
Bootcamp has changed the way I work out. Johanna's workouts cover the whole body. My favorite part is that she watches what you are doing and corrects form but I don't feel like she is standing over me. I'm having some issues with my knee and Johanna adapts the exercises for me. Her bootcamp is always changing and she is always encouraging. This session just ended and I can't wait for the next one to start.
I have been attending Johanna's Bootcamp classes for 3 years now. I have seen such improvemet in my overall strength and tone. I like how every class is different and although we work hard, we have a lot of fun as a group. Johanna is very motivating and encouraging and keeps the classes interesting.
I never thought I would run a Half Marathon, but I just recently completed my second one. Johanna's training and encouragement has helped so much and I'm happy to report I took 3 minutes off my last time!
